A Geek Holiday.
In this post, I will show you how you can actually integrate technology with traveling and how you can make your trip more interesting.
Do you always have problem where you went to a particular strange county, you took some photos and well, you show them to your families and friends.. and you realise you only know the country name but you have no idea where you are actually at (exact location).
The tools (hardware and software) that I've bring to my trip to Australia:
1. IBM X31 Laptop (updating of blog and storage for photos)
2. Nokia N6110 Navigator Phone (Link up with GPS to get position)
3. Casio watch (measure temperature)
4. Windows Live Writer (for blogging)
5 Google Earth (to see where you are)
6. Internet Connection
7. Camera
8. Image resize software
There you go. All this things should be only a one time charge. Services are all free (except for the Internet at Melbourne)
Copy and paste into google earth:
37°49'47.73"S, 144°58'22.40"E
Copy and paste into google earth:
38°13'47.04"S, 145°30'27.94"E
Copy and paste into google earth:
37°34'28.51"S, 143°51'57.60"E
Now you know EXACTLY where we are during the holidays! You can actually zoom in or out to see where you are and what else is there.
