Have been wondering how to silent this computer which I've been fixing. It's running on a Pentium 4- 2.4Ghz Processor (not celeron) aka prescott. The small casing consist of 2 harddisk and 2 DVD writers. Problem is that the CPU fan will go from 2000RPM to near to 4000RPM.
For a PC to be of acceptable range, you need the fan to be running at 2500RPM. anything higher then 3000RPM is consider noisy. I manage to silent it to so-so condition by adding a fan on top of the CPU. Job done.
$$$ collection tomorrow.
